Berea Soccer Team ends a successful Spring Season!

The Berea College Men's Soccer Team finished the Spring Season in a successful way last Saturday, when they played EKU in Richmond in a Scrimmage Game. Even though the team was defeated by 2-1, the players showed a high level of commitment and, according to the Men's Soccer Coach Ron Horn, the team's performance was able to meet his initial expectations about the team.

Basically, the game was very well played. Ismaila Cessay had the chance to early score for Berea, but he missed a PK. Then, EKU scored 1-0. However, Berea kept playing with confidence and had good chances to score. Finally, in the second half, after a free-kick converted by Luiz Iubel, Mamatov scored a goal for Berea, 1-1. Unfortunately, EKU scored 2-1 and the rain made things difficult for the mountaineers.

The great news is that the team is ready to play hard in the next fall and well represent the college in the next soccer season. Berea played with: Caleb, Sean, Julius, Joel, Chris, Luiz, Josh, Mamatov, Josiah, Gilbert, Cessay (Muzima). Coach: Ron Horn, Assistants: Pablo, Joe Saleem and Albert Conley.

Next fall, the coaching staff and all Berea players wait for your support.
